Iheanacho in the cold while Rohr ignores the striker before the final of the Nations Cup finals.

Super Eagles technical advisor Gernot Rohr eliminated Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho from the 23-man list for the 2019 African Nations Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

Rohr named Sunday her final list of 23 players in CAN 2019, leaving behind Iheanacho and Semi Ajayi.

Iheanacho would struggle to save time in the English Premier League of Leicester City in the 2018/2019 season, which seemed to have affected him.

He finally failed to convince Rohr that he deserved a place on the final list.

Ajayi, who was an outstanding actor for Rotherham United in the SkyBet championship in England, could not replace more experienced players to travel to Egypt.

The Super Eagles played their last friendly match ahead of the match  against the Warriors of Zimbabwe.

The match was played at the Stephen Keshi stadium in Asaba ended on a clean sheet goalless.

The 23 players and their officials left Asaba on Sunday for Egypt before the last round of preparation.

The three African champions will face Senegal's Teranga lions in their last friendly match on June 16th.

AFCON 2019, the 32nd edition of the competition, will be held in Egypt from June 21 to July 19.
